land acknowledgement

We give thanks for this sacred place that we share with all peoples, all creatures, and all life.

We acknowledge the lands on which we work and live, are the traditional treaty lands and territories of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat.

We recognize the enduring presence of all First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples, and we seek to live respectfully with them and with the earth.

We recognize the need for healing between cultures and healing from settler privilege.

We hope that the work we do reflects those intentions. While Shadowland Theatre is privileged to work in many communities across Turtle Island, we offer our acknowledgement of the land of our home base, Toronto Island or Mnisiing.
