The Austerity Dragon and the Bright Knights - Mummers Play, December 2012
In this year's Mummers Play, Good Knights battled the fearsome, all-devouring Dragon. Quack Doctors came to the rescue of the wounded, and the people stood strong against the destruction of their most precious environment, community, and arts.

The Golem - Ashkenaz Festival, August 2012
Larger-than-life puppets and wacky versions of historical Jewish figures retold the story of the Golem, having been expelled from his village and finding his way through the pathways of life.

The Lion on the Lake - July 2012
Working together with the Port Dover Harbour Museum and many community members from Norfolk County, we told the story of the War of 1812 as experienced by local people. General Isaac Brock's visit to Port Dover was enacted with giant puppets and costumed performers. Accompanied by Tecumseh, Norfolk Woman and a sea captain, the parade took over a park and the streets of Port Dover with a lively band of musicians and hundreds of participants.
Hansel & Gretel: The Fast Food VersionShadowland performed this Punch and Judy-style puppet version of the Grimm tale. Hansel and Gretel's dysfunctional parents can't keep up with their bills and sub-prime mortgage payments. The children are sent out into a murky, super-sized world where a Happy-Ever-After-Meal is not at all what it seems.

Occupy the Hearts and Minds – Mummers Play, December 2011
Shadowland's youth theatre project performed their topical and humourous take on the seasonal battle between winter and spring, The cast of outrageous characters included representatives of the 1% fat cats who were soundly defeated by our young occupiers with the assistance of, who else but Princess Warrior Marj-ority!

Island Mummers Play – a staged video of Shadowland youth theatre’s battle between winter and spring with a local, contemporary twist! The People and the Knight of Hope and Light, spurred on by the ‘Obby ‘Oss, overcome the forces of greed and selfishness.
Bringing Back the Light – the Island Mummers Play
Created by Shadowland’s youth theatre group a seasonal and topical take on the battle between winter and spring. In true mumming tradition our heroes – the People and the Knight of Hope and Light spurred on by the ‘Obby ‘Oss – overcame the forces of greed and selfishness. Performances took place at the kith&kin concert, the Island Wassail and the Kensington Solstice Parade. We also worked with grade 11/12 students at Parkdale Collegiate to create five Mummers plays of their own.
