A theatrical feast that cooks up our last 400 years and brings it to the boil.

by Alanis King and Shadowland

In 1606 Mi’kmaq chief Membertou and French explorer Samuel de Champlain meet, strut their stuff and forge a unique harmony over the rituals of a meal, creating The Order of Good Cheer.

Using the Toronto Island landscape as its backdrop, Shadowland creates a theatrical feast that cooks up our last 400 years and brings it to the boil!

Based on a true encounter Shadowland explored how the sharing of food can counter intolerance and allow the forging of trusting relationships.
