The Essence of Ambrose Ichor

A journey through the life and food of the world famous Canadian chef, Ambrose Ichor.

"Who knew that food could have such dramatic flair?" NOW, Jon Kaplan
read review

Created by Shadowland and Clea Minaker

Shadowland combined its visually distinctive theatrical style with culinary arts and site-specific installations to provide a meal in six acts.

Good food, like art, nourishes the soul. The act of breaking bread together enables us to share the deepest of human rituals.

The Essence of Ambrose Ichor was a hosted theatrical dinner that explored the order of a meal, the ambience of communal dining and the rituals of feasting. In a world of fast food, Shadowland hosted guests in a slow, wandering culinary adventure of six courses through the Toronto Island landscape culminating at the Gibraltar Point Centre for the Arts.
